Cuba’s New Accusations Against Luis Posada Carriles
HAVANA TIMES, Feb 8 — The Cubadebate website released information yesterday indicating that Cuban-born terrorist Luis Posada Carriles is planning new violent actions against the island.
According to the article, the opposition figure now has “the support of various anti-Cuban counter-revolutionary and mafia elements based in Miami.”
Basing these accusations on “reliable sources,” the article spoke of a series of public meetings that Posada has had in recent months with members of organizations such as Alpha 66, the Council for the Freedom of Cuba, and the Cuban-American National Foundation, which are all labeled as terrorist groups by the Cuban government.
Posada Carriles has confessed to being the mastermind behind the October 1976 bombing of a Cuban airliner killing all 73 persons on aboard. He escaped from a Venezuelan prison in the mid-1980s while awaiting trial for the sabotage.
