Gov. Delivers 670,000 Hectares
HAVANA TIMES, July 20 – Cuban agricultural authorities have delivered in usufruct just under 670,000 hectares of land, in compliance with a law passed last year establishing the granting of idle state land to cooperatives and individuals interested in making them produce, reported IPS on Monday.
With its key export revenues and tourism income affected adversely by the global economic crisis, the Cuban government is seeking to curtail costly food imports with national production.
