Hot over the whole period, rain in the afternoons

HAVANA TIMES, August 24 – The passage of Hurricane Irene will not affect climatic conditions in Havana. Therefore the weather over the period will be typical of summer with high temperatures during the day and clouding over in the afternoons, when one can expect the occurrence of rain, which will be more likely on Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday.

Maximum temperatures will fluctuate between 31°C (88°F) and 32°C (90°F), while minimum temperatures will vary between 24°C (75°F) and 25°C (77°F).

Winds will be from the west but with Irene’s passage will shift until coming from the south on Monday finally reaching speeds of between 25 km/h (15 mph) and 35 km/h (21 mph).

The sea surface temperature will be 30°C (86°F).

In the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico there is no expected tropical cyclonal development in the next 24 to 48 hours.
