International Contemporary Art in Havana
HAVANA TIMES, May 7 — More than 80 works by 70 contemporary artists from the Americas, Europe and Asia make up the exhibition “Una mirada multiple” (A Multiple Look), which will be on display for the Havana public from May 12 to August 20 at the National Fine Arts Museum.
According to a Prensa Latina, these are high quality works from the collection of the nonprofit Fundacion de Arte Fontanals-Cisneros (CIFO), and constitute some of the most outstanding pieces of contemporary art world.
“The exhibition is the first independent curatorial project that brings together a substantial part of the CIFO collection outside of its physical facilities,” said curator Osbel Suarez.
The CIFO collection has more than 2,200 works, including established ones such as those by Marina Abramovic, Vito Aconci, John Baldessari, Sophie Calle, Maria F. Cardoso, Olafur Eliasson, Tracey Emin, Eugenio Espinoza, and Andreas Gursky.
