US Blockade Hinders Development of Biomaterials in Cuba
HAVANA TIMES, March 19 — The US Treasury Department has just denied a permit to Professor Alan S. Hoffman to participate in the 3rd International Course on Biomaterials, which began this past Friday at the Colegio San Geronimo in Havana.
A protest was issued on Sunday by the Cuban Foreign Ministry on its website.
With this action, the University of Washington professor will be prevented from sharing with other specialists from around the world, including renowned scientists Julio San Roman from the Institute of Polymer Science and Technology in Spain and James Kirkpatrick, a professor at Mainz University in Germany.
