Royal Ballet Cuba Pics
Photos by Caridad
HAVANA TIMES, July 16 – The Royal Ballet of London gave its opening night performance on Tuesday in the Cuban capital. Their presence is the talk of the town with the island’s large dance loving population and foreign visitors alike. Photographer Caridad was on hand to bring you a spectacular photo gallery. The troupe, which includes Cuba’s Carlos Acosta, has sellout shows scheduled through Saturday at both the Garcia Lorca Grand Theater and the Karl Marx Theater.
We also present a series of unpublished Havana Times photos of Carlos Acosta dancing fragments from Spartacus in Havana at the opening of the 30th Havana Film Festival last December.

Thank you for taking us to this historic event! Thank you Carlos for taking the initiative to make it happen and thank you Cuba for the sacrifices that were made in these hard times to expedite it and meet the many and varied needs of the Royal Ballet while in Cuba.
Goodness me….such elegance
I am so lucky to have come across the Havana Times with the beautiful pictures of Carlos Acosta as Spartacus for the Royal Ballet. How comes the Guardian never covered this important Arts event?
Thank You to the Havana Times for allowing those who could not be there to see the ballet companies’ talent and beauty.

For anyone interest in The Royal Ballet, Carlos, and the tour in Cuba, please do check out my blog where I have linked to these wonderful pictures too.
I have become a fan of Carlos Acosta by reading the Havana Times. I wish you had a DVD I could buy. Instead I have ordered a DVD with Acosta playing Sparticus in Russia from Amazon.com
The photographs taken in Cuba were fantastic. Please complement the photographer for me.
