Cuba Holds Terry Fox Marathon of Hope

HAVANA TIMES, March 10 — The 14th Terry Fox Marathon of Hope in Cuba took place Saturday morning in several cities across the island, starting simultaneously at 10:00 a.m. local time.

The run was inspired by Terry Fox (1958-1981), a young Canadian athlete who’s right leg was amputated due to cancer but who heroicaly crossed his country (143 days and 5,373 kilometers (3,339 miles),  running to raise awareness and funding to fight cancer.
