Havana On Its 505th Birthday
Photo Feature by Ernesto Gonzalez Diaz
HAVANA TIMES – This November 16, Havana celebrates its 505th anniversary. A magical, real, wonderful city, full of contrasts, symbols, icons and legends.
A city that tries to survive amid a terrible structural crisis. A city that fights against apathy, abandonment, that tries to rebuild itself, that fights not to succumb.
It is very difficult to summarize in a few images everything that this city represents, however, let these photos serve as our small and modest tribute to Havana, the so-called “capital of all Cubans.”
Congratulations, your 505 Birthday is an amazing survival story. I have visited and loved the people and culture.
P.S. The USA will never last that long, how sad!
