HAVANA TIMES – Today’s featured artist is Cuban percussionist Mongo Santamaria with a remastering of his song “Yambu” from his 1959 album Afro Roots.

Our Queen of Salsa, the great and only Celia Cruz music was banned and never played again on the radio after she left Cuba. That was the case for any singer, Cuban or foreign, who left Cuba. Erased. My mother made sure I knew.
