Cuba Denounces Affront to Evo Morales
HAVANA TIMES — The Cuban government reacted early Wednesday to the affront suffered by Bolivian President Evo Morales on Tuesday when, during his flight from Russia to La Paz, several European nations suddenly denied his aircraft the right to fly in their airspace.
Morales called the incident, which saw him forced to land in Austria and wait 13 hours to continue on, a “diplomatic kidnapping.”
The following is the statement from the Cuban authorities.
Statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba
A few hours ago, various European governments refused or withdrew, using the pretext of technical grounds, overflight or landing permits for the aircraft of President Evo Morales Ayma of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, which constitutes an inadmissible, unfounded and arbitrary act, an offense to all of Latin America and the Caribbean.
A few days ago, the United States threatened a sister nation, Ecuador, with coercive economic measures, which cannot be tolerated for any reason whatsoever, an act which damages all of Our America and deserves international repudiation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba is following with serious concern events of the last few weeks related to the significant denunciation of U.S. citizen Edward Snowden, confirming the operation of a global espionage system on the part of the government of the United States, in violation of the sovereignty of states and the rights of persons.
Cuba calls on the international community to mobilize against these violations of international law and human rights.
The very fact that the Austrian President was there on hand ‘to convince’ Evo to ‘allow a little search’ of his diplomatic plane ‘as a friend to a friend’ speaks volumes.
It shows High level involvement from at least the state dept head (John Kerry) or even Obamo -whichever.
That Austrian backstabber, basically agreed to the americans ‘funneling’ the plane to his doorstep and he would effect a search by ‘I am your friend’ means, also at the same time pointing out that you cannot proceed if you have him onboard…yeah as if…Austria gives two flying fks about Snowden.
That plane was systematically funneled to Austria by blocking ‘airspace over which they needed to fly to get out of Europe’.
No one is going to admit they ‘worked’ for the US they will all say its something else, an error or a mistake or it did not happen…too many errors too many ‘never happened’s’ for it not to be TRUE.
Never, ever trust the Austrians….Hitler was Austrian.
Wow! Disagree with me if you must, but the personal attacks are unnecessary. I said nothing about ALL of Latin America. I simply differ with those leaders who claim to represent the poor people and all the while are lining their pockets. Anyway, it’s not about me and Moses is my real name. I don’t know where you have traveled but while I will admit the Bush years were tough, I have no problems being an “American” in Europe now. I don’t like dictatorships and that is reflected in my comments. I suppose from your comments that you support the Castro regime?
And
America is so respected these days? Really? That’s why all of them
travelling the world especially the students are putting Canadian maple
leaf stickers on their suitcases & saying they are Canadian eh? Because
they know how Bush & Cheney put a black X on Americans foreheads with their
war mongering? If you are calling them hypocrites then you must be president of
the club Moses if that is even your real name on here or your picture NOT!
Because you are afraid to reveal who you really are behind your
ignorant comments! These countries are trying to improve conditions for their
people that America has kept them down until now & uneducated.
Christina Fernandez said it right, “Finally the faces of
the Presidents of South America reflect their people!” They have the
right to govern their own countries & their own people the way they see is
best for their people just as America does for theirs (not?). They are all
well educated and democratically elected now and they have studied in Europe, Britain
& America so they know what end is up! Why are you afraid of Latin American
progress… why not build bridges with them towards a better future instead of
tearing them down? But then I believe by your comments on here that you are
just another war monger feeding the arms dealers their daily crack > more
money!
‘Press release solidarity’ seems to be the most potent weapon these handful of banana republics have in protesting their “serious concerns”. It is no wonder they are so easily disrespected. In a week, all will be back to normal, with the President of Argentina adorned in her designer Italian dresses, the President of Ecuador drinking his favorite French wine, and the Cuban oligarchy amusing themselves with pirated episodes of CSI on Cuban TV.
