US-Owned Factories in Mexico Reopen Despite Spread of Coronavirus

HAVANA TIMES – In Mexico, tens of thousands of factory workers in the northern border state of Baja California are being forced to return to work after the local government reclassified maquiladoras as “essential.”

Workers say the US-owned factories are failing to provide them personal protective equipment, triggering massive coronavirus outbreaks.

  • The idiotic attitude by some Americans towards Covid-19, ignoring medical advice and re-opening when the infection rate in the US is still rising, obviously doesn’t cease at the border. Fortunately, Canada is keeping the border with the US closed to all but essential traffic. As Trump supporters would chorus: “Lock ’em up!”.
