Raul Castro Meets with Salvadoran FM
HAVANA TIMES, March 14 — Cuban President Raul Castro met in Havana on Saturday with El Salvadoran Foreign Minister Hugo Martinez Bonilla accompanied by the Central American country’s First Lady Vanda Pignato.
The meeting took place after the inauguration of the Salvadoran Embassy in the Cuban capital. According to the official Cuban press, the discussion included an exchange on the challenges facing the two countries and multilateral issues with an emphasis on Latin America and the Caribbean.
With the reestablishing of diplomatic relations last year between Cuba and El Salvador and Costa Rica, the only country in the America’s without normal ties with Cuba is the United States.
