Cuban Company to Drill 24 New Wells
HAVANA TIMES, Feb. 18 – The state-run Cubapetroleo Company (CUPET) will drill 24 new oil wells this year with its own financing and foreign technical advice, announced its director Julio Jimenez. The Caribbean country produces around 80,000 barrels a day of crude, close to half of its needs, which it covers with imports from Venezuela, reported IPS.
