US Nobel Chemist Interested in Cuba
HAVANA TIMES, Dec. 14 — US biologist Peter Agre expressed his desire to establish partnerships between scientists from the US and the island when he spoke yesterday at a meeting between researchers from the two countries.
The 2003 Nobel Prize winner in chemistry stated, “This country has much to teach in solving persistent problems in other areas of the planet,” reported AIN.
Referring to the event, Fidel Castro Diaz-Balart, a scientific advisor for the Cuban Council of State, said this is a significant step in improving ties between the two countries.
