Three Cubans Inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame

HAVANA TIMES, Dec 14 — Olympic and world medalists Loamnet Quintero, Yoel Garcia and Aliecer Urrutia were recently inducted into the Central American and the Caribbean Athletics Hall of Fame.

In a ceremony scheduled for December 18 in Havana, these athletes will join the group of 21 Cubans previously recognized, reported the Trabajadores newspaper.

Since 2003, more than 50 individuals have received this honor, which is reserved for retired Olympic and world class medalists in the region. The list includes such Cuban superstars as Javier Sotomayor, Ana Fidelia Quirot and Alberto Juantorena.
