Twitters Respond to Fidel Castro’s Call
HAVANA TIMES, March 14 — Cuban activists on the Twitter social network have called for a massive “twittazo” (Twitter session) today with the tag “#SavetheWorld,” in response to the call by former Cuban President Fidel Castro to save the planet.
According to the Prensa Latina news agency, this movement will begin at 10:00 am, on the eve of the world launching of Castro’s book Nuestro deber es luchar (Our Duty Is to Fight), which is symbolized by artist Pablo Picasso’s “Dove of Peace” design, which will accompany those who join in.
The book launching in Havana will be broadcast live over the Internet on the official Cubadebate website through Justin.TV, while internationally the activities will also be presented in Caracas, Quito, Buenos Aires, Luanda, Santo Domingo, La Paz , Mexico City, Bridgetown, San Juan, Kingston, Washington, Madrid and Berlin.
