Two Killed and 39 Injured in Central Cuban Traffic Accident
HAVANA TIMES — Two people died and 39 others were injured in a bus accident that occurred early Monday in the central Cuban province of Ciego de Avila, reported the Prensa Latina news agency.
Among those killed in the accident were 56-year old Miguel Miranda, who was a Cuban who lived in the US, and Alberto Hernandez, a 26-year-old soldier who was a native of the Holguin province.
The accident occurred when a bus carrying 49 passengers en route from Holguin to Havana overturned before arriving in the city of Ciego de Avila.
On Sunday another accident occurred leaving a toll of four dead and eleven injured in the eastern province of Granma. A minibus brushed the rear tire of a wagon and crashed into a tree.
