Cuban Rowers Seeking to Qualify in London Today
HAVANA TIMES — Cuban rower Angel Fournier will attempt to qualify today in the finals of the single sculls competition of the 2012 London Olympic Games, challenging other powerful European rowers.
According to the Prensa Latina news agency, the islander was spotlighted when he advanced to the semifinals with a time of 6.54.12 minutes, just behind Czech athlete Ondrej Synek, the winner in the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, islanders Manuel Suarez and Yunior Perez are also looking forward to advance today in their contests for titles in the lightweight double sculls.
