Tropical Storm Isaac enters the Caribbean

HAVANA TIMES — Tropical Storm Isaac is moving closer to Cuba and the center is currently (6:00 p.m. EDT) located less than 12 miles east of Guadalupe Island in the Lesser Antilles and 335 miles east-southeast of San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The storm is moving westward at a speed of about 35 km/h (22 mph) with maximum sustained winds of 45 mph.
Rain is expected during the coming period especially in the afternoons, due to daytime heating, with this probability increasing on Monday due to the proximity of this tropical storm.
The prevailing winds are from the east-northeast, with speeds of less than 28 km/h (17 mph). Starting Sunday these should acquire characteristics of cyclonic circulation and the speeds may increase to between 37-55 km/h (23-35 mph) in the capital.
The maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 32°C (90°F) and 25°C (77°F), respectively.
The sea surface temperature is approximately 29°C (84°F).
