Cuba Announces Shortlist Players for Baseball Events
HAVANA TIMES — The Baseball Federation of Cuba announced last week the official list of 56 players shortlisted to participate in European and Asian tours next month.
Catchers: Ariel Pestano, Frank Camilo Morejon, Yulexis La Rosa, Yosvany Alarcon, Yosvany Peraza and Yenier Bello.
Infielders: Jose Dariel Abreu, Yordanis Samon, Alexander Malleta, Juan Carlos Torriente, Andy Sarduy, Jose Miguel Fernandez, Dayan Garcia, Raul Gonzalez, Erisbel Arruebarruena, Yordan Manduley, Roberto Carlos Ramirez, Luis Yander La O, Yuliesky Gourriel, Yurisbel Gracial, Michel Enriquez, Donald Duarte, Rudy Reyes and Maikel Castellanos.
Outfielders: Alfredo Despaigne, Frederich Cepeda, Rusney Castillo, Guillermo Heredia, Alexei Bell, William Luis, Yasmany Tomas Sanchez and Edilse Ariel Silva.
Pitchers: Yadier Pedroso, Odrisamer Despaigne, Dalier Hinojosa, Freddy Asiel Alvarez, Ismel Jimenez, Vladimir Garcia, Norberto Gonzalez, Pablo Millan Fernandez, Darien Nunez, Leandro Martinez, Yoanni Yera, Noelvis Entenza, Michael Lahey, Alexander Rodriguez, Joel Suarez, Lenier Rodriguez, Felix Fuentes, Yander Guevara, Yohan Hernandez, Yosvani Torres, Erlis Casanova, Julio Alfredo Martinez and Juan Carlos Viera.
The goal of the shortlisted players is to make Team Cuba for the 3rd World Baseball Classic next March, where the Cuban team will presumably play in the first phase in the Asian group.
