To Workers of the World

As May Day arrives, I think back to all of the workers around the world who have given their lives in the struggle for the freedom of human beings from human beings.
I believe today, more than ever, that economic, social and political conditions have reached a state of crisis that a social revolution can explode in any country, and with this provide a breath of fresh air to the workers of Cuba who have had to remain isolated by an economic siege imposed by the exploiters of the world.
I believe that despite its carrying out a socialist revolution, Cuba will have to break with its bureaucratic obstacles to develop even further. I also understand that for there to be a socialist explosion, a truly socialist revolution must be produced, that is to say, one organized by the workers themselves-from the bottom up-making a call for world revolution and organizing workers at the international level.
From here we will unleash our struggle supporting all workers of the world, for a world run by the majorities.
I am now studying in my sixth year of medicine. Given my long hours of medical studies, together with the responsibility for attending to patients while receiving a monthly wage of 213 Cuban pesos (about US $10), I too feel like a worker.
This is why I will march in the May Day parade shoulder to shoulder with Cuban workers, unfurling the same banner as last year demanding: “DOWN WITH THE BUREAUCRACY, LONG LIVE THE WORKERS, MORE SOCIALISM,” to support the fight against the bureaucracy in Cuba and in the world.
The workers should decide and direct the construction of socialism. Now is the time.
Long live the workers of the world!!!

Yea, the US is the bad guy – Right.
Y is it that the Cubans living in the US that have to send money, medicine, clothes and other necessities of life to the Cubans in Cuba?
If Cuban (BTW – it’s not socialism) communism is so good and the US so bad it would be the other way around, wouldn’t you???

We are still struggling here in North America — now is not the time for anyone to give up the struggle! Cubans will not have to wait another 50 years for relief from the pressure of imperialism. Not even 20 years. Already they have important new economic ties with the rest of América Latina. Hang in there.
