Traffic Accident Leaves Three Dead

HAVANA TIMES — The overturning of a truck on Tuesday on the island’s national highway left a toll of three dead and more than twenty people injured, said a police official in Cienfuegos Province.

According to Prensa Latina, the vehicle was en route from Havana to Santiago de Cuba when the accident occurred in the municipality of Lajas.

The probable cause of the accident was reported as the loss of control by the driver, though an investigation is ongoing.

The Cienfuegos Provincial hospital treated 26 passengers for injuries, though none of these were reported as life-threatening.
