On Wednesday, December 30, Michell Herrera will be presented at the Zorra y el Cuervo (Calle 23 No. 155, Vedado) from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 in the morning.

Young saxophonist has received the special prize in several editions of the JoJazz competition/festival. He works with noted musicians such as Chicoy, Orlando (Cubajazz), Jorge Reyes and Bobby Carcases. His group is made up of players of the sax, piano, bass, drums and trumpet.

On Thursday, December 31, Rembert Duarte y su Banda Nautilus will be presented at La Zorra y el Cuervo (Calle 23 No. 155, Vedado) from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 in the morning. This young pianist and trumpet player has received important recognitions, such as the SGAE Composition Prize in the 2004 and the competition of young talent at the JoJazz festivals in 2006 and 2007.

On Monday, December 28, Fenix will be presented at La Zorra y el Cuervo (Calle 23 No. 155, Vedado) from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 in the morning. The band is composed of young musicians with academic training who play the piano, bass, sax and drums, as well as a singer. Generally demonstrating excellent interpretive quality, they have achieved exquisite work with the jazz classics.

On Sunday December 27, Bellita y su Jazztumbata will be presented at La Zorra y el Cuervo (Calle 23 No. 155, Vedado) from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Bellita is one of the women who have successfully explored Cuban jazz. She is a pianist, composer and manager of her band, which is made up drums, tenor sax, flute and Miguel Miranda, who masterfully plays the bass, congas and other Cuban percussion instruments.

On Saturday, December 26, at 4:00 p.m., performances will take place at the Oratorio San Felipe de Neri (Aguiar y Obra Pía, Habana Vieja). This space gathers the younger generations in lyrical song under the artistic direction of maestro Maria Eugenia Barrios.

The Spanish Ballet of Cuba will be presented in the Garcia Lorca Hall of the Gran Teatro de La Habana (Prado No. 458, Centro Habana), on both Friday and Saturday, December 25 and 26, at 8:30 p.m.

On Saturday, December 26, the young trumpet player Yasek Manzano will be presented with his group from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. at the La Zorra y el Cuervo jazz club (calle 23 y O, Vedado). The composer and arranger took first place at the first edition of JoJazz in 1998 and has shared stages with important Cuban and foreign musicians.

Jesús Fuentes y Conexión Santo Tomás will be presented on Friday, December 25, from 10:00 to 2:00 a.m. at the La Zorra y el Cuervo jazz club (calle 23 y O, Vedado). His band not only plays pieces of Cuban jazz, but also Brazilian, Caribbean and US jazz by musicians such as Charlie Parker and Chick Correa.

HAVANA TIMES, December 21. ? Roberto Fonseca, with his group Temperamento, will be at the La Zorra y el Cuervo jazz club (calle 23 y O, Vedado) on Thursday, December 24, from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
An excellent pianist and composer with a very personal and innovative style, Fonseca follows different tendencies of the Cuban piano.

Dayramir y Habana en trance performs on Wednesday, December 23; and on Tuesday, December 29, from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 at the La Zorra y el Cuervo jazz club (calle 23 y O, Vedado). Dayramir Gonzales has been a member of the Diakara jazz band of Oscar Valdes. Likewise, he has participated in all of the Havana Jazz Festivals since 2000, sharing stages with figures such as Timbalaye, Janne Brunet, Ramón Valle, Bobby Carcasses, Hernán Lopez-Nussa, Pancho Ferry, and others.
