Cuba’s hurdles champion Dayon Robles set a new record (indoors) for the 60-meter hurdles in World Athletics Championships on Sunday to win the gold medal at Doha 2010. Cubans Yoandri Betanzos (17.69) and Arnie David Giralt (17.36) finished second in third in the triple jump event behind Teddy Tamgho of France who set a new world record of 17.90.

The Cuban Sports Institute and Olympic Committee announced yesterday that the Fifth National Sports Olympiad will take place from May 15-29 in nine Cuban provinces.
