Vulgarly Classic II
Nonardo Perea
HAVANA TIMES – This second piece of video art formed part of the third project I created for the Alternative Havana Biennial which took place in May. This time, I was lucky to have Czech-born artist and photographer (now living in the US), Sonia Domkarova, performing at the screening.
This wonderful woman forms part of The Biennial Project collective, a project which brings a group of amazing artists together to perform at Biennials all over the world. Members who were present and took part at the #00 Biennial included Victoria Hayward, Walter Kopec, founder and director of the prestigous Biennial project Word play Institute, Brian Reardon, Coral Woodbury, Eric Hess, and Anna Salmeron a great woman.
Sonia’s presence helped me to confirm that I do feel and more and more identified by the feminine gender and interacting with women ignites my creative spirit within.
I will leave you with the video and want to take this opportunity to once again thank the #00 Biennial’s organizers because it was thanks to them that I was able to contribute my two cents to this project, and to get to know all of these incredible people who live for art, because art doesn’t only unite people, it also unites countries.
