Chicago to Get Guantanamo Prisoners

HAVANA TIMES, Dec. 15 – The U.S. government will transfer to a prison in Chicago dozens of prisoners it has in the Guantánamo Naval Base detention center, in eastern Cuba, reported IPS citing official sources in Washington. President Barack Obama promised to close down that prison in 2010.

The Guantanamo Naval Base is located on occupied Cuban territory against the desire and interest of the Cuban government and people.  In recent years it has also been used as a prison  camp where repeated documented torture of detainees took place.
