Cuba Chess Master Finishes 8th

HAVANA TIMES, Feb. 1 — Cuba’s chess champ Leinier Dominguez finished eighth in the tough Wijk aan Zee 2010 tournament in Holland that ended Sunday.  The winner was 19-year-old Norwegian sensation Margnus Carlsen, considered before hand as the player to beat.

Dominguez drew in his final match against second place finisher Alexei Sirvov, ending with 6.5 points.
