Cuba Evacuates Tourists to Safer Ground
HAVANA TIMES — More than 1,200 tourists were evacuated from eastern Cuba to hotels in the central part of the country with the approach of Hurricane Matthew, reported Prensa Latina.
While no figure has been published the number was expected to have risen later on Monday as the visitors were transported to the Jardines del Rey resort area in the province of Ciego de Avila.
Jardines del Rey, comprised of the Coco and Guillermo Cays, is a popular complex including 17 hotels.
