Cuba Set for New Baseball Season

HAVANA TIMES, Nov. 27 – The 50th National Baseball Series will begin in Cuba on Sunday, with a game between the Industriales, last season’s champs hailing from the capital city, and Villa Clara, the runner-ups, at the Latin American Stadium in this capital, reported IPS.  Baseball is Cuba’s national sport and pride of the island at international tournaments.  Recently the national team finished second at the World Cup qualifier in Puerto Rico and won the Intercontinental Championship in Taiwan.
