Cuba Suffers from Extreme Heat
HAVANA TIMES, July 20 — June was the hottest reported in Cuba since 1951, with an average of 28.8 degrees Celsius, reported the Climate Centre of the Institute of Meteorology. According to the source, the registered temperatures surpassed the normal ones in the central and western parts of the country. On the other hand, it is estimated that in July and August the conditions in the tropical Atlantic will be more favorable for the occurrence of hurricanes, reported IPS.
At least hurricanes dump a lot of water in a parched Cuba… but my understanding is that the infrastructure still isn’t able to make the most of that ‘windfall’.
I hope reservoir construction is carrying on apace on the island.
