Cuba to Join Mad Cow Prevention Project
HAVANA TIMES, April 2 – Cuba requested its incorporation into the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) project to prevent the so-called mad cow disease which affects cattle’s nervous system, is degenerative and mortal, reported IPS on Thursday. FAO indicated in a communiqué that Cuba’s participation in the project contributes to the strengthening of its animal health patrimony and to the protection of human health. Official sources affirmed that there are no cases of this disease in the country.
