Cuban duo eliminated in World Table Tennis Tournament

HAVANA TIMES – The Cuban male duo composed of Jorge Campos and Andy Pereira fell Tuesday to the Swedes Hampus Nordberg and Fabian Akerstrom, and were eliminated from the World table tennis tournament being held in Paris from May 13 to 20.

The greatest hopes of the Cuban delegation was in the doubles event, but a pair of triumphs were not enough to overcome the stage of 32 pairs, during which all the Latin Americans were eliminated.

However the Cuban Andy Pereira remains at the Palais des Sports Paris Bercy, to face today Chih-Yuan Chiang of Taiwan, fourth in the Olympic Games in London and number six in the world ranking, according to Jit Online.
