Cuban Rower to Semis in World Championships

HAVANA TIMES — ??Cuban rower Angel Fournier moved Thursday to semifinals of the singles heavyweight event, at the World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam, reported Prensa Latina.

Fournier covered the distance in 7:07 minutes, only surpassed by the Czech rower Ondrej Synek, a double Olympic silver medalist in Beijing 2008 and London 2012 and the current world monarch.

The competition will end on Sunday, so the Cuban must obtain one of six tickets to the finals in the semifinal competitions on Friday.
