Direct Flights between Havana and New York
HAVANA TIMES — A direct charter air link between Havana and New York resumed operation on Tuesday with a weekly flight operated by the US company Cuban Travel Services.
The route was opened yesterday morning with a flight that left Havana for New York, reported EFE.
The return flight leaving JFK, was scheduled to arrive in Havana at 6:30 p.m., on a Boeing 737-800 leased from the US airline Sun Country.
This connection joins other new services announced such as the New Orleans-La Habana route resumed last Saturday after 57 years.
Hardly news, since all these “direct flights” require the traveler to have a LICENSE, thus limiting to the much smaller category of those who fit the U.S. criteria for allowable travel.
