Electricity Frauds in Urban Areas
HAVANA TIMES, Aug. 21 – Cuban authorities have detected 15,000 electricity frauds in the residential sector since January this year, reported IPS on Friday. The Caribbean country’s government is carrying out an energy saving campaign to attenuate the effects of the international economic crisis.
Electricity fraud has been a common practice and may have with the increased rates being charged by the state company.
Of course you’re not going to get rid of this sort of anti-social behavior as long as people generally don’t have enough resources at their disposal. And Cuba will never develop these requisite resources on its own, either. This level of advancement requires an international solution, ultimately. However, the form, praxis and concrete local implementation of all that matters a whole lot, too.
