Europe Chides Cuba over Dissidents
HAVANA TIMES, March 18 — The European Parliament again criticized the human rights situation in Cuba in a communiqué released after yesterday’s incident in the island’s capital, which involved law and order forces and the Ladies in White, mothers and wives of political prisoners, reported the press in Brussels, reported IPS.
“The Cuban government should respect fundamental freedoms, especially the freedom of expression and political association,” affirmed Jerzy Buzek, speaker of that legislative body.
