Fifty-three Injured in Holguin Truck Accident
HAVANA TIMES, Feb 23 — A traffic accident that occurred on Wednesday in the northeastern province of Holguin left a toll of 53 people injured, reported the local media.
The accident occurred in the Holguin municipality Cueto when a truck carrying passengers from Santiago de Cuba to Mayari veered in an attempt to avoid hitting a horse-drawn cart amidst a heavy fog.
Of those injured, two were reported in serious condition and thirty-six were taken to hospitals in the provincial capital, of which six could have complications, according to the blog Visiones de Cuba.
Four other people remain undergoing care at a local establishment, while the remainder returned to their homes.
