Fishing Tourney Concludes Today in Guillermo Kay

HAVANA TIMES — The Third International Jardines del Rey “Big Game Trolling” Tournament, concludes today in Cayo Guillermo, on the northern coast of the central province of Ciego de Avila, reports the Prensa Latina news agency.

The competition, which is governed by the rules of the International Fish and Game Association through the tag and release system, is involving seven fishing vessels from the UK and Canada, the main sources of tourists who visit the Jardines del Rey resort area.

So far the boat “Libertad,” with its team from the United Kingdom is in the lead, having accumulated 439 points by catching a sword fish and two Mahi-mahis (one of them weighing more than nine pounds).
