Havana Film Festival to Honor Young Filmmakers
HAVANA TIMES — In its 34th edition, the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema, will be dedicated to youth and will also honor the centenary of cinema in Puerto Rico, reported the Prensa Latina news agency.
In a press conference on Tuesday in Havana, the president of the annual gathering, Alfredo Guevara, said that more than 500 works from 46 countries will be present, including a major retrospective of Puerto Rican cinema.
Guevara noted that this time, the festival will open its doors to a large number of young filmmakers, who with their creative talent have rejuvenated Cuban cinema. He added that various universities across the country will host the showing of some of the competing films.
