Havanatur Golf Tournament Announced

HAVANA TIMES, March 7 — The Havanatur Golf Tournament has just been announced by the international group of that same name. The event will be held from June 21 to 23 at the Varadero Golf Club, about 85 miles to the east of the capital, reported the Prensa Latina news agency.

The director of Travel Incentives and Specialized Tours for that company said the event is aimed primarily at amateur golfers, where plans for these enthusiasts include three rounds of 18-hole play, an optional practice round and two rounds of competition in the form of a mandatory “Strokeplay” contest.

According to the executive, these new plans are aimed at the development of diversified golf alternatives and — which along with the other attributes of the country — are expected to increase the attractiveness of vacationing on the island.
