Leinier Dominguez Gets First Win in Paris Grand Prix Chess Tournament
HAVANA TIMES — Cuba’s Leinier Dominguez Wednesday defeated Dutchman Anish Giri in the fourth round of the Grand Prix chess tournament of Paris in what was his first win of the tournament.
The Cuban’s 2757 Elo points against Giri (2737) proved a relatively easy win for Dominguez who arrived at two tournament points just 24 hours after giving in to the hands of the Israeli Boris Gelfand.
Today, during the fifth day , Leinier played with black against Russian Evgeny Tomashevsky (2703), who going into the match was tied with the Cuban with two points.
