Local Governments to Be Constituted in Cuban Municipalities
HAVANA TIMES — Cuba’s Council of State today announced the forming of the new municipal assemblies of People’s Power on this coming Sunday, reported the Granma newspaper.
The 14,537 delegates elected in the first stage of general elections, which ended last Sunday, will form 168 assemblies and will begin taking up their new responsibilities in their mandates that will run for two years.
Once this stage of the elections is completed, the elections of delegates to the provincial assemblies and deputies to the parliament of the nation will begin.
