Pablo Milanes Has Emergency Surgery
HAVANA TIMES, March 6 — Cuban singer Pablo Milanes underwent emergency surgery in Madrid due to an umbilical hernia, forcing him to cancel his upcoming concerts, reported a representative of the musician on Monday.
“He suffered a hernia in the stomach and can’t sing, therefore he had to be taken in for emergency care,” said the representative to AFP by telephone from a clinic in Madrid, where Milanes underwent the operation without complications.
The musician “will be hospitalized for 24 or 48 hours, after which time he will have to spend about three weeks recuperating, according to the doctors,” said the representative, adding that “this means the cancelation of the rest of the tour,” which started last Friday with a concert in Barcelona.
