Preparations Underway for Trade Expo in Varadero
HAVANA TIMES — The Chamber of Commerce of Cuba will hold the 7th Expo-Matanzas Trade Fair from June 11 to 13 at the Plaza America Convention Center in Varadero, this time with an international character, reported the Prensa Latina news agency.
According to the organizers, the event will promote Cuban exports and identify opportunities for local and regional joint ventures, highlighting those sectors involved in food, textiles, construction, technology and services.
During the fair there will be a business roundtable, conferences, product presentations and an awards ceremony for the categories of quality, communication, design and integrated management.
Matanzas Province plays an important role in the island’s economy as it generates more than 55 percent of the nation’s electricity, possess about half of Cuba’s crude oil and natural gas, and is the second most popular tourist destination on the island.
