Runoff Elections to Be Held in Hurricane-affected Provinces

HAVANA TIMES — The second round of municipal elections in the hurricane-recovering eastern provinces of Holguin and Santiago de Cuba will take place this Sunday, announced the National Electoral Commission (NEC) on Wednesday.

Voting will take place throughout Holguin, while balloting in Santiago de Cuba Province will take place except in the provincial capital city and the municipality of Palma Soriano, indicates a communiqué from that agency.

In the those cities, elections will be held at a later date to be announced, said the official.
