Statutes of Cuban Communist Party Modified
HAVANA TIMES — A new draft of the statutes of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) was presented and approved at the party’s fifth plenary session on Tuesday in Havana, reported the official Granma newspaper.
The new language, presented by the second secretary of the Central Committee, Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, seeks to “make work party more flexible” and to “meet the demands of current circumstances,” reads the article.
During the meeting, current Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez was also promoted to become a member of the Politburo of the PCC.
“In terms of the training of leaders, we have taken positive steps, but the effort required is great and the time is short,” said the Cuban president, who recommended that party leaders pursue training in graduate-level public administration and enterprise management.
