Comrade Rosario Murillo Highlights Commemoration of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
Monday, December 10, 2018 | The 19 Digital
The vice president of Nicaragua, comrade Rosario Murillo, highlighted on Monday the commemoration in our country of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which was celebrated in the National Assembly, with the reading of a proclamation listing the progress made in its observance by the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity.
Comrade Rosario Murillo highlighted the activity where representatives of the Government participated, and where it was reported how it has been working for the respect of human rights, the dignity and value of the human being in all areas; health, education, food security, public services, public policies aimed at equal opportunity and a better quality of life of the people.
She emphasized the presentation of foreign minister Denis Moncada, who would read a communiqué on these issues, with special emphasis on the failed coup attempt that was defeated by the Nicaraguan people, and which had represented a violation of human rights and wanted to violate the Constitution and laws of Nicaragua.
Highlighting the words of foreign minister Denis Moncada, comrade Rosario Murillo said that “this coup attempt with interventionist funding and support, caused serious economic damage, destruction, terrorism disguised with simulated peaceful protests, atrocious murders of citizens, police, fires at public and private property, assaults, kidnappings, rapes, extortions, tortures, cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment, violating the Human Rights of Nicaraguans, the Political Constitution, the laws and the International Instruments on Human Rights.”
“Our Foreign Minister not only presented the advances of our people with this government of Christianity and Solidarity, but also denounced how the attempted coup d’état financed with interventionist support represented a violation of the human rights of Nicaraguans, the Constitution, the laws and international instruments and the conventions on human rights,”she stressed.
Pura Guacula – Not many people are as ugly inside and out as Murillo.
In the UK there is a butterfly named “The Painted Lady”. Is Murillo of that species?
I agree with the comment for Galeano book. What a great cinism displayed while oppressing human rights defendors on the very day we celebrate these universal rights. What a shame
Ortega and Murillo will be lucky if they escape the fate of the Ceausescus in Romania, when the liberated people took the law into their own hands and wrought vengeance both swift and sure. The communique uses the term “Comrade Murillo” disclosing that it is communism at work. No communist regime recognizes human rights as defined by the UN. Nicaragua is following Cuba and Venezuela into the pit of political depravity. For Murillo to talk of human rights is sickening. One can only hope that when their time comes, that a full legal trial is held to disclose the reality of their actions.
jajajaja
Wow! This would be a fantastic addition to Eduardo Galeano’s book: “Upside Down: A Primer for the Looking-Glass World”
