Tropical Wave Could Become Hurricane

HAVANA TIMES, June 24 — The tropical wave passing through the sea southeast of Cuba could become a tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours, the U.S. National Hurricane Center affirmed today, giving such an occurrence a 40% chance.  The system, which is moving north-westward, has caused rains in Jamaica, Hispaniola, the Cayman Islands and eastern Cuba, reported IPS.
