TS Isaac Heads for Caribbean
HAVANA TIMES — Tropical Storm Isaac should enter the eastern Caribbean late Wednesday or early Thursday on a track that could pose a threat to Puerto Rico, Haiti, the Dominican Republic and Cuba.
Presently packing 45 mph winds, the storm is moving west swiftly at 19 mph.
At 6:00 a.m. this morning the Cuban Weather Service (INSMET) located the center at 260 miles east-southeast of Guadalupe in the northern Windward Islands.
The National Weather Service (NHC) in Miami has put out a tropical storm “warning” for the northern Windward Islands and Puerto Rico and a “watch” is in effect for the Dominican Republic.
INSMET stated it will maintain a close watch on the evolution and future path of Isaac, as “it could represent a potential threat to our country.”
