US Wrestlers to Cuba Tournament
HAVANA TIMES, Jan 7 — More than 25 Greco-Roman wrestlers from the US will be competing in the Cuban capital between February 10 to 16 in the Granma-Cerro Pelado International Wrestling Tournament.
Although no one here knows the names of the US wrestlers, they are likely to include several world medalists, Prensa Latina predicted in its article.
The US athletes have also confirmed their participation in competitions in the Dominican Republic, France, Italy, Germany, Argentina, Canada, Ecuador, Tajikistan, Russia, Norway, Lithuania and Egypt.
Cuba is preparing its team with eyes on the Pan American Championships and continental Olympic qualification rounds for the 2012 London Olympics, therefore this will be an excellent opportunity to measure the varying team strengths.
